Lillie O’Sullivan Cup

Lillie O’Sullivan the person

Lillie was a founding member of the Ballincollig Camogie Club in 1974 and served in many Officer roles and she was very proud to be Joint President of her Club at the time of her passing.

Lillie never struck a ball on the pitch but she loved the game of hurling and camogie and her expertise lay in the role of administrator both at Club and County Level.

Lillie was the Ballincollig delegate for a number of years and was then asked to be a Board Officer when she took her first role as PRO, she also did a short stint as treasurer but found her home for a long number of years as Registrar.Lillie served from until her demise in 2001, with her lost position as President of Cork Camogie [Elected in 1999].

Lillie had a huge heart and encompassed all in her life, she loved to see matches being played and made lifelong friends through her Camogie journey and celebrated the successes and braved through the disappointments that came her way with a smile on her face.

The Lille O Sullivan Cup was presented by her Club in 2021 and the O Sullivan Family were delighted to be part of the award.

Lillie’s most constant saying both in camogie and family life was ‘If you are going to the job, then give it 100%” and this Lillie did with some left over.
